INHERITED DANGER
This is a collection of eight illuminating, deeply felt stories that revolve around resilient women in environments such as workplaces and other challenging situations. These tales vividly capture the experiences men and women stripped of their dignity and identity. They tackle a wide array of issues that reflect the emerging challenges Africans face in their relentless struggle for survival. Each story is a richly layered narrative, intricately exploring the depths of human emotion, the tensions of conflict, and the journeys of transformation.
Set in Nairobi's Eastlands where nobody wins, this is a novel of hustlers, of passions, manipulation and deception. A fierce yet troubled business-woman fights morally ambiguous characters and makes treacherous alliances. She makes hash of the arrogant male romantic interest through her offhand sexuality. Her ugly colleague is desperate, calculating, manipulative. This is a story about misfits. An ugly woman who is a wall climber, a cripple in a wheelchair who calls the shots, a pastor who is a big con, a shylock who wants to be an MP, a ghetto thug who wants to own a matatu.
