Bio

Prior to becoming a novelist, Okang'a Ooko was the award-winning artist and well-rounded designer in Nairobi's creative, branding, print and publishing industry. He was born in Rusinga Island, Lake Victoria, in Kenya and grew up in the 70s and 80s in Kisumu. He graduated from the Technical University in Kenya where he studied graphic design and communication. He later studied product design at the Housing and Building Research Institut at Wageningen University and worked extensively as a product development designer in the SME sector. His stories mostly feature ordinary men and women struggling to succeed in the new African renaissance. In his works are vivid scenes of Kenyan domestic life. Read more »
